I indemnify and hold Pet Partners, Instructors, or class location harmless from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, and damage to persons to property, governmental charges, or fines, and attorney's fees arising out of the acts or omissions of Pet Partners courses including, but not limited to, interactions, with instructors, attendees, or animals, screening or demonstrations involving my pet, or transportation of my pet to or from the training site or within the training site.

Details:

  • Registration and payment must be received two weeks before the class.
  • The course fee is $70 (includes Student manual and handouts and snacks.)
  • Check in / Training :  8:30 – 5:00
  • Please bring a sack lunch.
  • Make checks payable to MO-KAN Pet Partners.

Pet Partners Handler Course – Handler Training Only – NO ANIMALS

This interactive Pet Partners Handler Course is taught by experienced licensed instructors.  It combines lecture, discussion, and role-playing while covering the fundamental information needed to become a Pet Partner.  Topics include:

  • Volunteerism – The art and responsibility
  • Animals – Advocating for your pet;  teamwork and relationship,  reading body signals
  • Visiting – Developing skills for a successful visit
  • Facilities – Types of facilities; different client populations, infection control, risk management
  • Evaluation – What to expect and how to set you and your pet  up for success        
  • Becoming a Pet Partner  – Registration process
